The Lions scored a four-point play with 1:48 to go, then had a 3-point play with 1:30 remaining (Yorktown scored a basket in between). What had been a nine-point Yorktown lead was down to a four-point differential with 90 seconds remaining.
Central senior Zane Parker won the Fishers diving regional Tuesday, finishing with a 465.95 score. Bearcats diving coach Shea Hill said he thought Parker had the potential to win the regional, but they didn't discuss the possibility too much before the meet.
Cardinals senior Cal Bowling was named the Mid-American Conference West Division pitcher of the week. He defeated Dayton 4-3 on Friday in Ball State's season-opening game.
Co-champions Wapahani and Randolph Southern each had three players named to the All-Mid-Eastern Conference team. Kylie Castor, Maggie Snider and Lindi Thomas were named from Wapahani, and Hannah Franklin, Tory Shrum and Maddi Kramer were picked from Randolph Southern.
